I am a Lazy Blogger

Dang, I haven't written a post in a while! I think it's mostly because I can't load pics from my desktop because my computer is wonky and I don't have any pics loaded on the laptop yet...so I'm writing yet another pic-less post(Is that even a word? Well it is now!) Anyhoo, we've been having a fabulous fall here at the P household. We went apple picking and pumpkin picking...2 of which I picked at Walmart since the pickings in the patch were very slim. They had this thing called "Apple Slingshot" which was very cool, even though I truly sucked at it, much like I suck at anything remotely sports-related. Garrett was very good at it. Instead of aiming at the targets he was aiming for the trees. An apple makes a cool sound when it splats against a tree. I figured, hey, if Garrett has an easy time with this, how hard can it be? Well let me tell you--it's not as easy as it looks and I should know better than to underestimate my child. I took the apple, put it in the slingshot pocket, pulled back as far as I could, and the stupid apple fell out and whacked my foot. It hit really really hard and hurt. It hurt a lot. In fact, it hurt so much that I yelled out "Motherf!" Lest you all think I'm a pottymouth(.....) I had my censor on since there were children around and didn't finish the word.

Lucas is finally crawling and has gotten very good at it in a matter of days. He even figured out how to crawl on the landing to the stairs. I have a gate in the basement from the baby Garrett days and it will need to make an appearance soon. I don't like my basement and try to get down there as little as possible. Not that it's gross or anything, but it's the man-cave. I can't go down there without going into something airplane-related. I'm always afraid I'm going to break something because I'm a bit of a bull-in-a-chinashop type of gal. Really I'm a big klutz.

Lucas has also figured out how to shake his head "no". It's so cute. He does it mostly in his highchair when I'm feeding him. If I try to give him a bite of food and he's not ready for it yet he'll start the head shaking. It's quite helpful, really. Although sometimes he does it so enthusiastically I'm afraid he's going to go bald on the back of his head!

I had a totally genius idea the other day! Since I have no clue what's cool in toys this season I told Garrett it would really help out Santa and also Pepe and Meme if he would put some ideas on my Amazon wish list. He got so excited and said "Legos! I want all Legos!" so I said "Well go ahead and put what you want on the list." So later on that evening I went on the wish list so I could put Garrett's name in the comments and I saw some of the things he put on there....$400 and $600 lego sets!!! Whoa, this kid is pipe dreaming! I also noticed this morning that he made a list of what he "really wants" taped onto the computer desk. I'm really loving the not-so-subtle hints.

I saw this little rocking horse the other day that I just have to get for Lucas! Can't you just picture that in front of the Christmas tree? Classic!

Sometimes I Make Myself Chuckle

I was driving home from my sister's house today and decided to take the back way--back roads with lots of farms and not a lot of traffic are my preference. Anyway, I saw some haybales and shouted out "Hay!" which sounds like "Hey!"I love doing that, especially when there are others in the car with me. Garrett always laughs because he's in on the joke. Once every few months I get Mark with it though and it makes me laugh and laugh and laugh because I'll shout it out and he goes "What? What's wrong?" Then I'll start laughing. He doesn't find it as humorous as I do which makes it all the more funny for me!
